Anton Ivanov: A Character's Tale Woven with the Threads of Anime History

by Zenless Merch 01 Aug 2024

Today, we are going to explore Anton Ivanov as a character.

Ivanov is, first of all, a common surname in Russia. It translates to "Ivan's descendant."Like Jack and Jackson, that is. The Russian culture gives intellect, stability, and dependability to the name Anton. However, besides his dependability, he doesn't seem very intelligent or stable. He's a hot-blooded "idiot" with a sense of justice in the present plot. However, given the way he fights, it makes sense. It has been determined that he uses his head hammer excessively.

I'll tell you why he's so hot-blooded below, based on how the character looks. I know that many friends think Anton looks a lot like Kamina from Gurren Lagann when you first see him.

Whether it's the confidence and courage shown in his words or the hot-blooded feeling of hormone content bursting out in the description of his skills, it's all the same as Kamina's very distinctive personal charisma.

In addition to a Pile Driver and attack effects in his left hand, not only does it preserve the visual symbol of the Gurren Lagann, breakthrough drill, but it also perfectly carries on the spirit of breakthrough and aggressiveness that it represents.

But the art team seems to think that simply paying respect to this one hot-blooded cartoon isn't hot-blooded enough. You're about to meet one of the characters who has probably incorporated the most elements of a hot-blooded classic manga ever in Mihoyo's history. In the first place, you can't help but imagine that familiar BGM ringing in your ears with the exaggerated hairstyle and a Pile Driver strapped to his left hand. This part is supposed to be a reference to the visual elements of Atum, the main character in Yu-Gi-Oh!

When you combine the white high-collar coat of Anton with his flowing sleeves and hem, together with his hot-blooded tomes, I'm sure secondary fans will have figured out where this cape originated-that's right, it's the famous Navy uniform from One Piece.

The artist team matched the black shirt lining and added black sleeves to his coat. Which passionate manga comes to mind when you read this? My first thought is of the captains' vintage bleach suits. With merely black and white, Tite Kubo created a lasting image that remains in my memory.

Anton does have a flame pattern on his pants, as someone who has played Anton has no doubt observed. Furthermore, this design is a replica of the flame pattern found on Yondaime's cape in Naruto. There is a lot of similarity even in the little things, like the flames leaping on the pattern.

I'll put my creative interpretation here. The drawstring kind of pants that Anton is wearing is a common sight in fighting cartoons.

Let's discuss some of the intriguing design aspects after talking about the shape's historical origins.

First, a few specifics about the clothes: the hanging buckle at the bottom, the long straps on each side, and the metal device on the back of the coat. These elements may be seen in combination with Anton's backstrap and the straps on his right leg.

This whole thing would have been changed from this five-point bumper strap, with some parts exaggerated. Like these two straps that were thick enough to trailer, but a flesh trailer was something Anton could do.

Next came Anton's weapon: a Pile Driver he called his brother. Its design was more similar to a massive drilling rig, and its actual purpose would have been an oil draft.

Finally, a few observations regarding Anton's shoes: in my opinion, they are fashionable, with many of the patterns being realistic.

These shoes have a sock-like form, have a sporty side profile, and give off an illusion of height thanks to the cushioned heel. Although they are comfortable for daily use, sock shoes are not appropriate for vigorous exercise. Because the shoes' side support is insufficient. This is also the reason that certain sock shoes have hard materials added to the side.

Taking this into account, Anton's shoe designer inserted a strap that extends from the sole through the upper to offer support. On the top of the shoes, they made ventilation holes. The details are abundant overall. It appears as though he is creating an actual pair of shoes rather than a character role.

Although Anton is generally regarded as a kind man, he also appears to have an unhappy history. In his fantasies, he fears losing his brother. Furthermore, the sibling he is holding has ties to a previous coworker.

Anton's mission has not yet begun in the game. I'm going to take a wild guess here and speculate that Anton had a brother once.

At a construction site, there was a horrible hollow disaster one day, and the structure collapsed, trapping Anton and his brother beneath the debris.

Fortunately, Anton was not severely injured, but his brother was crushed. Anton's brother had left an impact drill in his hand, telling him to dash out of the wreckage to find assistance. But Anton's brother could not hold on as he ran back.

That's why Anton treated this impact drill with such affection and dubbed him his brother.
